Oh man, I was really out of it last night when I posted the picspam (no wonder, it was 4.30 am). I forgot an entire panel! And I even removed the network logos from the caps and everything (from PLAID! Plaid is evil), but then I forgot! And now it just seems silly to go back and add it.

When I'm less annoyed by, you know, LIFE, I'm gonna have to update my extensions post with some fabulous new extensions I found (sneak preview: Organize Search Engines. OMG, where have you been all my life?! LOVE!).

You know, I meant to accomplish at least something this weekend, but nope, this is it. (Unless you count fic reading and finishing a rewatch of Arrested Development season 3 as accomplishments, which I don't.)

Three caps have not been guessed correctly. All three movies have been used in previous games, so I uploaded the cap I used instead of the one that was languishing in my Scrapbook and displayed them next to the unguessed cap.

You know, for someone who quit watching the show over a year ago, I suddenly feel like I'm knee-deep in Doctor Who. Let's see, I just finished translating one episode and am starting another, I made a new icon *points*, I capped another episode and now I hear there are new spoilery pictures out there and I really really kinda want to see them. Anyone got a link?

This was inspired in part by bellanut's Valentine's Day picspam and in part by my own five favorite kisses post from a few years ago.

I know everyone and their mother has posted this vid already (it was kind of funny, because this morning's posts that weren't about this were "ZOMG Javier Bardem looks exactly like Daddy Winchester!!!!"), but I gotta call EPIC FAIL on the old flist for failing to bring the original vid to my attention in the month or so it's been available.

I'm completely avoiding work today. I really have to finish this one Jerry Springer because the deadline is today, but I feel slightly nauseated at the thought. Perhaps the program title will give you a clue as to why:

I wish the Project Runway torrent would show up so I could have a legitimate (well, to my way of thinking) reason to put it off even further. And after that I thought I'd take a look at the collections from Fashion Week, killing even more time. Then perhaps a post... I could put this off until midnight if I just put my mind to it.

ITEM THE FIRST: Strike almost certainly over (unless the members vote against the recommended action, which I find unlikely); showrunners returning to work on Monday.

ITEM THE SECOND: I basically just copied my cap posts from LJ and made a page on my site instead, listing all the caps. Probably a smarter alternative, primitive though it is.

So, today is the day we find out if there's going to be any more TV this season, huh? To be honest, I don't know quite what to think. On the one hand, sure, the terms are better now in that they include online content AT ALL, but a 17-24 day grace period when nothing is paid to the writers? In Internet time, that's aaaages.

And the way the AMPTP has been acting? I suspect that they've been going around shouting about the strike being over so that in case their deal isn't acceptable to the WGA members, the AMPTP can claim that they're being unreasonable. Just because they were offered anything at all. I'll be happy if the writers find the terms sufficient, but if they vote to continue the strike, I'm not going blame them for it.

PS. Looks like we'll have our answer in half an hour.

For the longest time, I've been pulling for NBC. They're the underdogs of the big four, they seem to be more willing than most to foster good shows and they do have some great programming. They're pretty much the only network that I've ever felt some modicum of affection for (with ABC and CBS I just don't care and with FOX there's outright hate), but during the writer's strike they've erroded that goodwill and the last bits crumbled today when I read that they sacked the entire writing staff of Days of Our Lives. Wow, what TOOLS.

I capped The West Wing season 7 all the way to the finale.

And then I started putting together a picspam. Can I just say that I should never be allowed to picspam more than an episode at a time unless I have a very clear theme? Okay then!

So, apparently this is happening. Hmmm, I'm not quite sure what to think, because I doubt many if any shows will be able to regroup enough to be able to put out any more episodes this season anyway. And I know Bryan Fuller has already said that there probably wouldn't be more episodes even if the strike was resolved soon. But still, good news for the summer fare, right? If it works out, that is. *crosses fingers*

Considering my own fannish status when it comes to FNL (which is to say: virtually non-existent), I'm surprised I haven't seen the more active fans mentioning this. Again, a rumor, but it made me hopeful that maybe we'd get other early releases. Personally, I'm practically drooling at the thought of Pushing Daisies DVD caps.

I bought myself a new cell phone this weekend. I kinda love it a lot.

Most cracktastic? This one.

For the past few days, I've been trying to distract myself, and so, I've been on a bit of an organizational kick of the online variety (in other words: my apartment is still a mess. ;-).

I started by redoing my LJ layout when I finally found a layout I wanted to use at thefulcrum. I finally got around to enabling my mood theme again, I've missed seeing it on my journal page. Especially this mood. *points* I also made my own animated text header, with Dorothy Parker quotes. Now, I'm not sure Dorothy Parker actually originated "what fresh hell is this?", but apparently it's how she used to answer her phone, which: HEEEEE!

I then updated my tags, my DVD list and my screencap posts. After shamefacedly realizing that I could only add one album for each post since my last update in November, I finally got off my butt and started capping Veronica Mars season 3. I have a feeling it's going to take me a while, but at least I'm on my way.

As for movie caps, I picked out a few movies I could see myself capping in the near future, but I'm trying to get a sense of what people would like, therefore, A POLL!

So, guess what my job has been since I last posted? If you took a look at my icon and guessed "translating Sports Night", YOU'D BE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.

"But, Jems," you're probably asking yourself right now, "if something good is happening, how can you be sure it's still 2008? How can you be sure you weren't sucked into some type of time vortex?" Well, I'll tell you: It's because I was dropped smack dab into the middle of the freakin' Dating Plan! The one storyline that makes me question if I actually like this show since it sucks SO MUCH.

This is not good. I mean, yeah, I'd basically given up on this TV season, but now I'm starting to get really nervous about next season.

You know, I'm trying to keep a positive attitude, but this year has just been a big ball of SUCK so far. I've gotten sick twice, I have Family Drama happening (though this is a reoccurring source of Family Drama, things seem to be coming to a head right about now), one of my closest friends has had to be referred to a specialist because she may have a congenital heart defect, I've had not one but TWO video files (both rush jobs) containing glitches, making me miss (or possibly miss, depending on what tomorrow brings) deadlines, and I already feel like I'm falling behind on my reading.

On the other hand, in a fit of self-pity I ordered Atonement the other day. It's coming out on DVD on February 4th. The next day sees the release of both the complete Slings & Arrows (which is why I haven't ordered any of the individual seasons yet, even though I had planned to) and The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford, which I'm curious about despite my Brad Pitt apathy.

Is there anything else particularly awesome happening soon? Goodness knows I could use a pick-me-up or twenty.
